"I take one gram of NMN every morning along with my resveratrol. The reason is in humans we know that that doubles NAD levels, which is important because someone my age has half the levels of NAD than I did when I was 20... And I do find anecdotally that NMN is remarkably good at preventing jet lag as well."

"Resveratrol — it's been back and forth controversial. It's not controversial in scientific circles. I've been taking about a teaspoon, call it a gram of resveratrol every morning, almost every morning for the last probably 20 years. Doing all right. It seems to help in clinical trials. I mix it with either a little bit of olive oil or Greek yogurt or vegan yogurt."

"I had terrible blood biochemistry. I was eating badly, I gained weight. I wasn't sleeping. I was stressed... So I went on NMN and things were somewhat rectified. And then I added Metformin and they really got back to my optimal."

"Love them. They're really good. I think we should all be empowered by our own data. The CGMs have been very useful. Personally, I can see how I react to foods — grapes send me through the roof, white rice through the roof. I'm wearing one right now. I wear them fairly regularly. I gave one to my son who at the time was 17 and it changed his life — he's eating much healthier."

"A new one that we've added in the last couple of years is nattokinase. Really the only thing that's been very clearly shown in large trials of thousand plus people to reverse plaque in the body. You need at least 10,000 units and it took a year, so you need to be consistent."

"What I didn't realize till I was in my 50s was how important food is. I thought vegetables were a garnish for meat. I love meat — it tastes great. But I've switched over to being more plant-focused and I've seen a great improvement in my overall health and biomarkers."
What David warns against
Things David says to avoid or be careful with. Other experts don't always agree.
"I'm not for multivitamins. Overall, taking a lot of multivitamins is excessive and it can actually be toxic if you have too much. Vitamin C can be pro-oxidant rather than antioxidant if you take a lot continuously."
"The overdosing of vitamins, particularly B vitamins — I nibble on my B vitamins, I don't take the whole thing. Overdosing on vitamins, especially B, can be one of the biggest wastes of money. IV B vitamins? You'll get a short-term hit, but I don't recommend overdosing."
"I have tried mouth taping and Serena says I make even more noises gasping. So I don't use mouth tape. I haven't had success myself with mouth taping."

I love meat — it tastes great. But I've switched over to being more plant-focused and I've seen a great improvement in my overall health and biomarkers." Only David
- Fasting Uses and recommends it 2 episodes "3 days fasting is good. A week can be even better. I couldn't do it — I tried a GLP-1 receptor agonist and it was easy. Now I can fast for two weeks. I now know that I can do it mentally — it's not hard at all. You go into what's called deep cleansing — chaperone-mediated autophagy or CMA — and it cleans out a lot of the old proteins in your body. Ketosis doesn't just make you feel good; you're actually renewing your protein in your body and rebuilding it." +2 others
- GLP-1 Uses and recommends it 2 episodes "In general, I'm very favorable. If you're obese, it's almost a must — go talk to your doctor. I think if you can't lose weight alone, please consider using these. I think obesity is the fastest way to an early grave. It's as close to a longevity drug as we probably have right now. I have taken GLP-1s at small doses to see how I would feel. I definitely didn't have hunger and I lost weight more easily." +9 others
- One Meal a Day (OMAD) Uses and recommends it 2 episodes "Generally I like to eat one meal a day, maybe two if I'm being social but not three. I think three meals a day plus snacks is marketing." Only David

- Niacin Uses and recommends it 2 episodes "I'm taking high-dose vitamin B3 or niacin... I'm taking half a gram. Some people take a gram. And that's one of the few things that's been known to bring down the levels of LP little A." Only David
- Statins Uses and recommends it 3 episodes "I've been taking statins since I was 29... So I've now got my cholesterol down to low, low levels... I'm willing to forgo the risk that the statin is causing problems later because of my family history. But other people, I would say, be aware that statins aren't perfect drugs." +2 others
- InsideTracker Uses and recommends it 2 episodes "I've been doing blood tests for the last 12 years with a company called InsideTracker, which I consult for, and so I have all of that data as well, and there's 34 different parameters on my testosterone, my blood glucose, my inflammation, and I use all that data to keep my body in optimal shape... You can definitely use it. You can sign up, it's consumer." Only David
- Intermittent Fasting Uses and recommends it 2 episodes "If you can go skip breakfast, have a late lunch, that's a good start. That's what I try to do every day... these genes that extend lifespan, these sirtuin genes, are activated by being hungry, in part by raising NAD levels." +9 others
- Aspirin Uses and recommends it 2 episodes "I take a baby aspirin every day... Someone like me, I believe it makes perfect sense to take aspirin every day." Only David

- Withings Scale Uses and recommends it 2 episodes "I do like the Withings scale because I've had one since 2013, so I've got all this data on my body weight and composition, which is awesome. And I'm trying to maintain that at the optimal level over these last 13 years." Only David
- Spermidine Uses and recommends it 2 episodes "The reason that I take it is that it extends the lifespan of every animal that it's been given to from worms to mice. And it's a very safe molecule." Only David
- Tadalafil Uses and recommends it "I take Cialis — tadalafil — every morning, a low dose. I do that because in 2012 we published a paper that showed that one of the most pernicious causes of aging is low blood flow, and we could reverse that with NMN through SIRT1 — more blood flow. I take this low dose in the hopes and expectation that if I get dementia it will be a decade later. And now add on that cancer killing. It's an amazing drug." +2 others
- Glycine Uses and recommends it "I take about 5 grams of glycine most days... it's very safe and again falls into the same category as spermidine. No downside." +1 other

- Homemade Yogurt Uses and recommends it "I got addicted to the yogurt and so is everyone in my family now... it's really easy. You get packets, there's three different packets, you rip them open, put them in whole milk, shake it and stick it in the oven on defrost for 24 hours." Only David
- Creatine monohydrate Uses and recommends it "Creatine — in favor of it, and I take it." +26 others
- Hyperbaric oxygen Uses and recommends it "Hyperbaric oxygen therapy — in favor. There's good evidence that cycling up and down in pressure is good for the brain and blood flow. I have done it myself and have seen improvements in wound healing in others. So yeah, in general it's a plus." +4 others
- Ketosis Uses and recommends it "Ketosis is one. You go into what's called deep cleansing — chaperone-mediated autophagy or CMA. Ketosis doesn't just make you feel good; you're actually renewing your protein in your body and rebuilding it. I do that as an anti-aging thing." +1 other
- AI-driven drug design Uses and recommends it "We are working with companies and academics that do a lot of AI now. It's accelerating our work exponentially. AI-driven drug design and looking at billions and eventually trillions of molecules to see which ones might reverse aging. We've done that already." Only David
- AST/ALT liver test Uses and recommends it "You don't know if you're doing good or harm to your body unless you measure it, particularly your liver. You can measure what's called AST/ALT. I do that routinely just to make sure nothing's going wrong in that regard." Only David
- Olive oil Uses and recommends it "I've realized that olive oil and particularly oleic acid, one of the monounsaturated fatty acids, is also an activator of the sirtuin defenses. So I'm trying to ingest more oleic acid. So I switched to olive oil." +5 others
- BioButton Uses and recommends it "I'm currently wearing a little what's called a bio sticker... It immediately syncs to your phone, and this one, it's called a BioButton, a nice name... It's already told me this morning how I slept, where I slept, what side I slept on." Only David

- CoQ10 Uses it "CoQ10, of course, because I'm actually on a statin." +2 others

- Nose Strips Uses it "I do use those nose strips because Serena thinks they help." Only David
- Extended Fasting Uses it "I'll come home from travel and just I won't eat for 3 days. Sometimes 2 weeks I can go without food. It's not a big deal for me. After those 3 days, I start to feel amazing. My mind clears. I don't feel bloated at all. I feel energized." +1 other

- Extra virgin olive oil Uses it "I do take a teaspoon of olive oil in the morning and mix it with resveratrol polyphenol." +2 others

- High-sensitivity CRP test Recommends it "There's a high-sensitivity CRP, your doctor will know. Get one of those readings. But a lot of people have normal blood sugar, but have high CRP, which is just as bad for you long-term, and can predict a future heart attack." Only David
- TSA PreCheck Uses it "If you want to pay for the TSA Pre in America, that's the way to get around those scanners, you can do that. So I travel a lot, so it's worth it anyway, but I just go through the metal detector, I don't get scanned." Only David

- Sauna Recommends it "Definitely sauna — there's a lot of evidence, mostly Nordic men have been studied. If you do regular sauna bathing in Finland a few times a week, your rate of heart disease can be much less, and that is reproducible. I think saunas are great. I try to do some of that myself, as hot as I can bear. I would probably take a sauna 20 times over taking a cold plunge if I'm going to try and do something for my health." +20 others
