"Resveratrol — it's been back and forth controversial. It's not controversial in scientific circles. I've been taking about a teaspoon, call it a gram of resveratrol every morning, almost every morning for the last probably 20 years. Doing all right. It seems to help in clinical trials. I mix it with either a little bit of olive oil or Greek yogurt or vegan yogurt."
▶ 55:04"The three main ones that we've been taking for over 15 years. Resveratrol in red wine. That's still a staple for us and we've got some really good data that we're going to submit to Nature on that. That's mixed with some olive oil or some yogurt so it dissolves."
"Resveratrol is a staple of mine for 15 years. I take about a gram of resveratrol. Look for white or slightly gray. If it's brown or brownish, throw it away. You can increase absorption five-fold by mixing it with either olive oil or a bit of yogurt."
"I take resveratrol... I take polyphenols from red wine and from vegetables either in a pill or in my food as a substitute."
"I do and I've been taking that since about 2004. But like I said, you can't just put it in water and drink it... I typically have some yogurt, a couple of spoonfuls, not a lot because I'm trying to fast until dinner, but I could mix it with olive oil."
"Realistically, you can only get the thousand milligrams that I take a day from a supplement that's pure. Now there are a lot of people selling resveratrol. If it's not light gray or white in color, throw it away... I put a couple of teaspoons of olive oil in a glass, mix around the resveratrol."
"The best example of that is resveratrol, which many people including myself take as a supplement. Grapes or grape vines produce that in abundance when they're dried out or they have too much light or fungus, and that we've shown activates the SIRT1 enzyme in our bodies."
"I still take it and we still study it in my lab... the way it really works, we know this is a fact from my lab, is that it's stimulating the body's defenses against aging and disease, because it's binding to these enzymes that we work on called sirtuins."

"I take one gram of NMN every morning along with my resveratrol. The reason is in humans we know that that doubles NAD levels, which is important because someone my age has half the levels of NAD than I did when I was 20... And I do find anecdotally that NMN is remarkably good at preventing jet lag as well."
▶ 1:05:09"I also take that with NMN, which is an NAD supplement. It's a precursor. We studied both in my lab and we just resubmitted a paper that showed that NMN is very good for the health of old mice and can extend the lifespan of mice, particularly females."
"One of the supplements that I take, which everyone knows about, NMN, could allow animals to grow new blood vessels by getting rid of a protein that accumulates with aging. We could mimic this lack of blood vessels with this pill. My father has been taking NMN, resveratrol, metformin, exercising."
"What I've started taking with my father is NMN and I take a gram of that as capsules every day. You just want to make sure it's really pure. It should either taste slightly sour like a sour patch kit if you're in the US, or there's a form of it that tastes a bit like sweet popcorn."
"I've been taking NMN and admitting that publicly for a while now and my father who is an even more advanced experiment at 86. So yes, we've been taking it for over a decade now and we're still alive"
"I take a precursor to NAD called NMN and the body uses that to make the NAD molecule in one step... if you take it for about two weeks, you'll double on average your NAD levels in the blood... we take a gram of NMN every day."
"One of the effects in mice at least of NMN, which is what we're taking, is improved blood flow. You get the benefits of exercise without having to exercise, if you're a mouse."

"What I am planning to do, and actually started doing, is on days that I'm exercising and recovering I don't take metformin, and then when I'm just sitting around or on a plane I do. That way I think that my body can have the best of both worlds."
▶ 9:48"Metformin requires a prescription. That's a type two diabetes drug. Relatively safe as a medicine. We take a gram a day of that."
"If I take metformin or the natural equivalent which is berberine... Taking it every other day, I think is better."
"I had terrible blood biochemistry. I was eating badly, I gained weight. I wasn't sleeping. I was stressed... So I went on NMN and things were somewhat rectified. And then I added Metformin and they really got back to my optimal."
"So I take Metformin... I always take Metformin in the morning, along with the resveratrol... But here's the thing, if I'm going to exercise that day, I will skip the Metformin."
"There's one called metformin, which is the diabetes drug, which I take. That in combination with these lifestyle changes should get us beyond a hundred."

"Love them. They're really good. I think we should all be empowered by our own data. The CGMs have been very useful. Personally, I can see how I react to foods — grapes send me through the roof, white rice through the roof. I'm wearing one right now. I wear them fairly regularly. I gave one to my son who at the time was 17 and it changed his life — he's eating much healthier."
▶ 1:59:29"I can see on my monitor — the CGM — the great impact it's having on my body. I can monitor it on my rings. I do blood tests, which is important. You don't want to just guess what's working, what isn't."
"This one — I have a monitor on right now so I can see what's going on. I put one of these on my son and he stopped eating bad food for a long while. It was amazing what happened when he could see the crap that was going in his mouth was doing to his blood sugar. I think it's a great learning tool if nothing else."
"No, no, I used to, I learned a lot... They're very informative because you learn what your body reacts to and grapes were really bad."

"I've been taking statins since I was 29... So I've now got my cholesterol down to low, low levels... I'm willing to forgo the risk that the statin is causing problems later because of my family history. But other people, I would say, be aware that statins aren't perfect drugs."
▶ 1:22:57"I've actually been on a statin to lower my LDL since I was 30... I insisted with my doctor initially with statins."
"I haven't noticed, and I've high cholesterol and I think it's worth it. But yeah, if there's nothing else wrong with you, you wouldn't take them."

"A new one that we've added in the last couple of years is nattokinase. Really the only thing that's been very clearly shown in large trials of thousand plus people to reverse plaque in the body. You need at least 10,000 units and it took a year, so you need to be consistent."
▶ 27:41"I swallow about 10,000 units of this stuff every morning. It's just a capsule. And I'm going to measure it. I typically do an ultrasound on my carotid every year and I'm going to see if nattokinase makes a difference."
"We recently added a couple of things to my father's regimen. One is nattokinase, which is an enzyme that comes from fermented soybeans. I have cardiovascular disease in my family."

"This is an Oura, the fat one. I find Oura really good for sleep — that's their specialty. They're getting even better because they now pop up with AI information. They're becoming like a personal health advisor. I can see sleep efficiency above 90 sometimes."
▶ 2:11:07"I'm also measuring it, a ring that matches my pulse and my sleep. — Is that the Oura? — Yeah."

"There's a company that makes it in pure from very low levels of gluten. And just the last few months I've added that to my protocol and we'll have to see how my numbers look on InsideTracker."
▶ 1:07:07"The reason that I take it is that it extends the lifespan of every animal that it's been given to from worms to mice. And it's a very safe molecule."

"The overdosing of vitamins, particularly B vitamins — I nibble on my B vitamins, I don't take the whole thing. Overdosing on vitamins, especially B, can be one of the biggest wastes of money. IV B vitamins? You'll get a short-term hit, but I don't recommend overdosing."
"I have tried mouth taping and Serena says I make even more noises gasping. So I don't use mouth tape. I haven't had success myself with mouth taping."
"I'm not for multivitamins. Overall, taking a lot of multivitamins is excessive and it can actually be toxic if you have too much. Vitamin C can be pro-oxidant rather than antioxidant if you take a lot continuously."

"I prefer natural versions. If you can't raise it naturally, yeah, for older people there's been a lot of benefits. But it doesn't extend lifespan — there was no evidence that it does that for longevity."

"Red light and Viagra have something in common — it does help mitochondria, and that's very important for the eye. The mitochondria are the most important in any part of your body, and in the eye they're the most critical. To protect your brain, you can take one of these PDE5 inhibitors — Viagra — or take NMN which we think also works, or all of the above which is probably the best approach."

"We used a molecule doxycycline. It's used to treat Lyme disease, but we're using it over a matter of a few weeks or really six weeks to turn on those three genes OSK. So really the deaging comes down to one shot and then antibiotic treatment for as often as you need it."
"We give them doxycycline. It's used for malaria. It's used for Lyme disease. And we're using it in this case to turn these genes on."
"The genes go into the retina and we can turn it on with a drug called doxycycline. And we do that in the mice for four to eight weeks, then the eye gets younger."
