WW3 Threat Expert: The Warning We Are Ignoring, The Only Way Out Is THIS! | Dr Sarah Paine
Steven Bartlett talks with historian Sarah Paine about why she thinks the world may be sliding toward another world war, covering the Iran war, Putin's invasion of Ukraine and the breakdown of the rules-based order.
The gist
-
Paine says the world is splitting between continentalists who grab land, naming Russia, China and Trump, and a maritime rules-based order that compounds wealth.
-
She calls the Iran war a pivotal error that raised fuel prices, damaged US alliances and gave countries a reason to seek nuclear weapons.
-
Paine warns against half-court tennis, ignoring the other side, and recommends Iran's Lego videos as proof Iranians understand Americans far better than the reverse.
-
Paine says an economy growing 1% doubles in about 70 years versus 23 years at 3%, so she prefers sanctions over costly wars.
-
She urges young people to keep reading, talk across political divides, stay polite and vote, noting a third of Americans stayed home.
"I don't know if you've seen Iran's Lego videos. Oh, you need to, on the plane trip back, you need to look at Iran's Lego videos... What they demonstrate is the Iranians have a deep understanding of Americans."
